This painting explored the experience of colours and reflected light when walking Karijini rather than the structural detail. I wanted to see what was created when I focused more on the contrasting sensations between experiencing areas of light and shade, warmth and cool respite from midday sun, and the immersive, almost overwhelming vibrance of colour.

Karijini NP is the traditional home of the Banyjima, Kurrama and Innawonga Aboriginal people.
