Painting of banded iron formations and cool reflective water found in Dales Gorge, Karijini National Park 2023.

Karijini National Park is a place of extremes.

The scale of the deep gorges in Karijini National Park can often only be realised when you see the scale of the trees. The colour of the water at this spot was a fresh bright lime green that contrasted against the warm rust coloured rocks. The colours were so vivid that this spot had a particularly unworldly feel to it, our expectations of how the natural world can look are expanded.

Karijini NP is the traditional home of the Banyjima, Kurrama and Innawonga Aboriginal people.
