Colour study from Baigup Wetlands series of on location paintings. After an afternoon of intense painting in the heat I picked up my portable glass palette and held it up. She-oak branchlets had stuck to it and there was a file of acrylic paint yet to be wiped off.  I traced the landscape onto the palette with my finger creating an intriguing effect when you viewed the wetlands through it. I later added this effect onto a painting that I’d created on location and I feel its really captured the moment of me standing there with the palette in hand.
