IsoForm Sculpture [2017]

IsoForm Sculpture is a large scale steel artwork located on Great Eastern Highway and Ivy Street at Liebherr Perth, Western Australia. This long reaching steel arch that not only echoes the mechanical forms of Liebherr equipment, but also utilises the same the steel composition, connectivity and scale.

Drawn elements of the Liebherr machinery are laser cut into the planes which twist and turn to create the arch. The sculpture reveals different cut-outs and shadows depending on the angle of view. Referencing isometric drawing techniques it purposefully breaks away from the formalised angles and instead creates intertwining steel planes that represent the journeys of materials, modules, personnel and expertise that occur in building behind where it is located.

The concept was designed and developed by Adam and Jane Coffey. Construction was completed on site by the Liebherr fabrication team.
