‘Threads of Resilience” was exhibited and shortlisted for the Perth Royal Art Prize for Landscape 2025.

The thread of creativity. A delicate trace fluctuating between times of intensity and times where it is barely there. A fine but unpredictable balance of creative activity and life’s responsibilities. With determination, I arrive in this landscape somewhat exhausted. I examine the nearby rocks. I paint their portraits in no particular order immersing myself in their colour and textures, discovering their personalities, holding their weight, examining the moss that’s attached to its form. I stretched time to be here, soon my focus will have to switch back to family life. This work echoes a sonograph or environmental monitor reading, whose function is to protect my creative work.
