The pale coloured spinifex grasslands and the red earthy tones of the ranges seen on the drive into Karijini National Park. This painting explores the vast scale and energy of the landscape though blended colours. This painting was created by mixing larger quantities of colour on the palette before committing the colour to canvas. The texture of the spinifex grass is expressed through the paint texture.

Karijini NP is the traditional home of the Banyjima, Kurrama and Innawonga Aboriginal people.
